Workshops for classes or campus groups
If you are UD faculty or staff and want the Writing Center to provide a workshop on a writing or speaking topic for your class or other group of students, we can work with you to adapt one of our workshop offerings for you and your students. The current options for these customizable workshops include:
- Writing personal statements for applications
- Managing a long-term writing project
- Overcoming writing anxiety
- Summary, paraphrase, and quotation
- Ethically attributing generative AI content
- Revising for clarity
- Designing a multimodal presentation
- Delivering a spoken or multimodal presentation
Because of high demand for our customized workshops, our policy is to facilitate a workshop for a faculty or staff member one time. We will share our workshop materials with you so you can facilitate the workshop yourself in future.
Short-term writing fellows and short-term oral communication fellows: A short-term fellow would be attached to your course for 2-4 weeks (depending on your need), providing support like feedback to your students on writing or speaking projects and assistance during peer response. Help with online or in-person peer response: The Writing Center can help you plan peer response and send either writing tutors or oral communication consultants to help you facilitate peer response during a class meeting.
